Global Navigation Satellite Systems as State-of-the-Art Solutions in Precision Agriculture: A Review of Studies Indexed in the Web of Science

Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) in precision agriculture (PA) represent a cornerstone for field mapping, machinery guidance, and variable rate technology. However, recent improvements GNSS components (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou) novel remote sensing computer processing-based solutions PA have not been comprehensively analyzed scientific reviews. Therefore, this study aims to explore novelties with an interest based on the analysis of papers indexed Web Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The using were determined ranked citation topic micro criteria WoSCC. most represented topics “NDVI”, “LiDAR”, “Harvesting robot”, “Unmanned aerial vehicles” while included “Geostatistics”, “Precise point positioning”, “Simultaneous localization mapping”, “Internet things”, “Deep learning”. Precise positioning, simultaneous geostatistics that directly relied 93.6%, 60.0%, 44.7% studies WoSCC, respectively. Meanwhile, harvesting robot research has grown rapidly past few years includes several state-of-the-art sensors, which can be expected improve further near future.
